“Latitude” at World Square
The design for “Latitude” at World Square, on the corner of George and Goulburn Streets, Sydney comprises a low-rise office building, a retail complex and a high-rise commercial tower with Ernst & Young as the main tenant. The development has been designed as a showcase project for environmental sustainability with energy efficiency, sun shading, natural ventilation and light being key elements incorporated into its design.
Star Electrical negotiated with Multiplex Constructions to provide a design and construct package to encompass some of the environmental considerations mentioned above. Star Electrical designed the building to provide a Seda rating of 4.5. Currently this is the highest possible rating that a building can obtain. Star Electrical provided Multiplex and its verification consultants with the completed design and associated drawings.
The electrical and data construction phases lasted 18 months, finishing in early 2005. At the height of construction, Star Electrical had over 70 electricians and data installers on site. During this phase Star Electrical was awarded the Ernst & Young tenancy fit-out which covers 20 floors and consists of both electrical and data installations.
Star Electrical was able to finish the job on time and on budget for both contracts.
