DHL Gateway Project
In late 2004 Commstar Communications won the Data Cabling Contract for Stage 2 of the DHL Sydney Gateway Centre.
The Gateway is the new hub for Australia and Oceania regions.
This hub will handle an estimated 20,000 shipments moving more than 90,000 kg of freight daily, as well as the handling of 50 flights and trucks on a daily basis. More than 150 employees are employed at the new premises.
The Commstar Communications team were Mark Short, Paul Farmer, Ben Careless, Craig Willis and Will Peters.
Robert Goodwin, DHL’s National Facilities Manager, described the Commstar crew as being “very professional in their workmanship.” As a result of these high standards, Commstar Communications has continued to perform more work for DHL, both in Sydney and around Australia. DHL is continually investing heavily to expand its presence in Australia. A number of branches and logistics centres will be opened in the next three years.
